Come Celebrate!!

The Friends of Foundry Wood Steering Group invite YOU and your friends and family to a Community Woodland Fair on Saturday 22nd June to celebrate our progress over the past 18 months and to learn more about the future plans for Foundry Wood. Whether you have helped out or not, all members of the community are welcome to enjoy this fun day in the woods.

Saturday 22nd June 11am – 5pm.

A fun day to celebrate the restoration of Foundry Wood over the last 18 months, and to find out about its future. Free entry.

  • 11.30am : Guided walk
  • 12:30: Low Women Singing
  • 12 – 2pm: Bring & Share community picnic lunch (please bring food to share)
  • 2 – 3pm: Simple Willow Weaving activity (all materials provided)
  • 2:30pm: Songlines Singing
  • 3.30pm: Guided walk
  • All day: self-guided walks; demonstrations of wood carving, basket making and wood turning, stalls plus live music and entertainment.

All welcome (dogs only on leads, please!) We suggest you park (for free) at the Victoria Park Car Park, Park Drive then walk over to the woodland. Foundry Wood is the triangle of land between the two railway lines with a pedestrian entrance on Princes Drive.  Marked in red on the map below:

Why not get involved? It will be much more fun if you help out! Could you run a ‘woody’ activity? Would you like to have a craft or information stall? Can you help with general arrangements on the day (no skills required)? Please get in touch!
