ARC have created two Therapeutic gardens to date. The Way Ahead Project (WAP) is a homeless drop-in service run by the Salvation Army. They have a small paved outside area.

In 2017 ARC worked with WAP to transform the space with raised beds, planters and colourful mosaics. Visitors were engaged at every stage from planning to harvesting and eating fruit and vegetables grown there.

“The place is a lot brighter and more spacious. There was nothing to look at before, but now there is something positive. Every time I come in I like to check up on the vegetables, see how they are doing”

In 2018 ARC worked with residents at Warford Lodge, accommodation for women who had been in care and were either pregnant or had babies and toddlers. The existing garden was transformed from an overgrown mass of weeds into a beautiful mix of flowers, fruit and vegetables.

If you have a site that ARC could help you to transform, please email info@arccic.co.uk to discuss it further.
