Volunteers Needed at Lyttelton Community Wildlife Garden

ARC supports people to access and engage with the outdoors for their mental and physical health and wellbeing.

Volunteers Needed  at Lyttelton Community Wildlife Garden

ARC are working collaboratively with Packmores Community Centre and Warwick District Council to co-create a Community Wildlife Garden tucked behind housing on Lyttelton Road in Warwick. ARC will lead a weekly volunteer gardening group. The site has been assessed by RSPB as a habitat for nesting birds and a raised bed has been installed and is ready for planting. Warwick Youth Council will be planting a native hedge around the perimeter to further support the wildlife.

Are you passionate about protecting our urban wildlife? Would you like to spend time supporting this community project once a week? We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic volunteer to assist our weekly sessions which have now started on Friday mornings 10am-12pm. We meet at Packmores Community Centre just before 10am and take part in a range of activities including habitat creation, planting and caretaking.

We will also be holding monthly community gardening sessions on a Saturday. The first one is in collaboration with Packmores Community Centre on Saturday 19th April 12pm-2pm. We will be planting a herb garden in the raised beds besides Sussex court flats. Please keep an eye on our social media and website for future dates.

We are also in need of some hand tools to be donated if anyone has any wanting a new home! To be involved, or if you have donations please contact lucie@arccic.co.uk
