After all that rain and now the sunshine, a few of us went on site one evening to do some identifying of plants.

There is already a range of ‘woody’ species – so far we’ve found Ash, Elder, Sycamore, Hawthorn, both the common one and Midland Hawthorn (we think), Holly, Willow, Blackthorn, Dogwood and possibly Lime.  Oh and a Horse Chestnut seedling!

There are lots of small herbaceous species coming through in the open space at the far end of the site, which we’ll keep an eye on as the months progress….
